Beachy Blues

Being a teenager, no summer vacation is complete without a trip to the beach. Whether it's a bonfire with the homies, walking along the boardwalk, or taking selfies by the sand, going to the beach has always been a love of mine. I would say that it's definitely one of the biggest perks of living in Southern California since it is only a short car ride away. When I completed my DIY bikini and oversized mesh top sewing projects, I already knew that the beach was the key spot to show my pieces off and of course shoot many pictures.

When you want to show off that adorable two piece, you can never go wrong with a mesh top over a bikini!  I designed my mesh top to be oversized, then for a bit more style I just added some black sheer fabric and slits on the sides. It goes well over bikini I have sewn together! The bustier/bralette-like top is inspired by Alexander Wang, and I thought it would complement well with a simple high waist bottom. You can find a tutorial for the bikini here: http://atlofysabel.blogspot.com/2014/07/diy-high-waist-bikini-with-alexander.html. Overall, the pieces are so simple, yet the pattern and deep blue color makes the bikini pop. You could easily spot me in the ocean! To add on to that beachy feel, I added a floppy hat from Forever 21 along with my go-to circle sunnies from Zero UV.
