DIY High Waisted Shorts

I just love high waist shorts with many of my outfits, so whenever I make a two piece set, high waist shorts are my go-to design. If you know me from my old tutorial on high waist shorts (http://atlofysabel.blogspot.com/2014/04/diy-high-waist-shorts.html), here is my updated version of it, so check it out:

Here is the pattern I used for these shorts:

I believe there is a 1/2 inch seam allowance everything. I usually use a back and front pattern when making shorts, but I just used one pattern for everything.

To make your own pattern, fold over your favorite pair of shorts or high waisted shorts like above and trace around it on a paper. Then just add your seam allowances. As for how short or long you want it to be, I added a lot of length at first and then cut it to how short I wanted it to be.

Fabric was provided by the wonderful Fabric Wholesale Direct, so check them out @ http://www.fabricwholesaledirect.com/

Their fabrics are high quality and reasonably priced. Here in DTLA at the Fabric/Garment district, I couldn't even find good, cheap neoprene, so I was very happy to see that Fabric wholesale direct had it at an amazing cost. The guipure lace I used is absolutely GORGEOUS, and it came in so many different colors, but of course knowing me, I chose black.

If you would like to use the fabrics I have used in the video, here are the links to them:
